Q: What is purpose of the College Prep Camp?
A: This camp will briefly cover those items covered at the College Soccer Training Center. This camp is perfect for those who can't attend the College Soccer Training Center because of previous commitments or who want to get an idea of what the College Soccer Training Center holds if you are already attending.
Q: Who are the coaches?
A: The Northwestern Coaching Staff, local college coaches and several of the players on the team will make up the College Prep Camp staff. Various coaches from local colleges will also be invited to attend and observe the training.
Q: What about a recruiting seminar listed on the schedule?
A: The Northwestern University staff will go over some of the "do's" and "don'ts" of the recruiting process and hopefully give you a head start on your soccer career.
Q: What about strength and conditioning, will the players lift weights?
A: One of our strength and conditioning coaches will give a brief overview of the type of weight training we do at Northwestern. The players themselves will not lift weights but demonstrations will be given as to the proper form to use. Most of the emphasis will focus on "CORE" training and soccer specific training as opposed to lifting for size.
Q: When will there be a snack break?
A: During the recruiting seminar, participants will have the chance to consume whatever snacks they have brought. Water and Gatorade will be available, but players are encouraged to bring a light sandwich or snack to refuel midway through the camp.
Camp is open to any and all male entrants from grades 9 and up. Camp registration will be limited to 100 participants.
